HISTORIC PROVENANCE
The Floor Lamp Corbin takes its design direction from The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Cloisters Library. The Cloisters, the Museum’s space devoted to the art and architecture of the Middle Ages, opened to the public in Upper Manhattan in 1938. The Cloisters Library houses around 15,000 volumes that explore medieval European decorative arts, sculpture, architecture, painting, stained glass, and illuminated manuscripts. Our American-style floor lamp echoes the detailing on lamps in the library, with an adjustable stand in a brushed-brass finish and an oatmeal linen mix shade handcrafted in the Netherlands.
