The Mirror Rococo draws its inspiration from an exquisite carved-and-gilded-pine mirror in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The original elaborate frame, created by William Gould & Son in London around 1750–60, features dramatic scrolling acanthus leaves, showcasing the heavily ornamental style that was prevalent at the time.
